Find Your Spot and Take Your Shot Here in NC.

You can both find your vaccine group and a vaccine location on the NC Department of Health and Human Services page. Bear in mind you will need an appointment in most locations and few doctors’ offices are able to give the vaccine. The vaccine is provided free of charge whether or not you have health insurance. You can also call the COVID-19 Vaccine Help Center at 1-888-675-4567.
Reduce Vaccine Hesitancy
About 31% of US adults are hesitant, reluctant, or distrusting of the COVID-19 vaccines, according to a Kaiser Family Foundation poll. But as COVID continues to cost American lives, vaccination is absolutely critical to achieving herd immunity, which is necessary to protect the most vulnerable and reopen the country. Authors of a consensus study report published by the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, offer “Strategies for Building Confidence in the COVID-19 Vaccines” here to reduce hesitancy.

What Doctors Wish Everyone Knew

The vaccines themselves will NOT give you COVID-19. The mRNA vaccines do NOT affect or interact with our DNA in any way because the mRNA never enters the nucleus of the cells where our DNA is kept. Operation Warp Speed did NOT eliminate safety steps or involve sacrificing safety for speed. Instead it allowed government support and simultaneous steps, but know that safety is and was always a top priority for the COVID-19 vaccines.

Realize that even if you have had COVID, you still need to get the vaccine. And all 3 FDA authorized COVID-19 vaccines have been shown to prevent severe illness, hospitalizations, and death. It remains the consensus of major physician groups to take the first vaccine available to you.
